Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, could depart Arsenal Ladies before the start of the 2017 Women’s Super League season, aoifootball.com has scooped.

Reports have it that representatives of the 2016 African Women Footballer of the Year are studying an offer from an unnamed Chinese Women’s Super League team.

Oshoala has entered the final year of her contract with the Gunners and it is thought that the Londoners are willing to allow her leave as she was not a relevant member of the team last season, with only six starts to her name.

On the international stage, Oshoala has represented Nigeria with distinction at youth and senior level. In 2014, she was player of the tournament at both the FIFA U-20 World Cup and the African Women’s Championship.

She was named Best Player and highest goal scorer at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. She was named best player and second top goals scorer with the Super Falcons team who won the 2014 African Women’s Championship (AWC).

She was also named the BBC’s Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2015.

A product of Rivers Angels, the 22-year-old has also played for Liverpool Ladies.
