Super Eagles’ midfielder Alex Iwobi, has revealed his favourite moment as a football fan was watching uncle, Austin Jay Jay Okocha’s wonder goal against Oliver Kahn’s Karlsruhe in 1993.

In a Bundesliga fixture between Eintracht Frankfurt and Karlsruhe in 1993, Okocha, who had only come off the bench in the second half, received the ball in the opposition’s box, dribbled three defenders and the goalkeeper before smashing the ball in with his left foot into the net.

Iwobi described the goal as an “unbelievable moment and crazy bit of skill that will stay with me forever.”

The goal, which was eventually voted goal of the year by viewers of Sportschau (an ARD German TV sports programme) had many football fans off their seats and equally prompted Oliver Kahn to pay a tribute last summer where he revealed on twitter that the goal still made him dizzy.

Okocha’s Eintracht Frankfurt won the game 3-1 but the goal was the perfect icing on the cake.
