Since he took over as the interim coach of Katsina United, whatever he has touched has turned to gold.
Many Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) buff are of the view that the interim coach of Katsina United, Baldwin Bazuaye, who has steered the club in their last two away matches, may have the magical wand to take the team to greater heights in the current campaign.
Katsina United have not only improved but have grind out impressive performances, registering two significant away draws against Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars, a feat Bazuaye revealed came as a result of the team’s assiduity and focus.
“We charged ourselves after the change in guard that we have to stay focused. I and the players owe our recent achievements to the support from the governor, the chairman and the fans who have remained with us. Nothing has changed in my approach to the players; we’ve maintained the same way we do things,” said Bazuaye.
On the pressure of staying in charge of the club and churning results that will keep their elite league status, the former Nigerian international submitted that he hopes for the best of results that will keep him with the club and keep the club up at the end of the season.
“I’m taking the challenge head-on, luck is key after so much hard work. We want to stay in the league and I also want to be here; like I said, we will stay focused and hope for the best of results,” concluded Bazuaye.
The Changi Boys are currently 13th on the log with nine points taken from seven games.
