President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has wished his counterpart Anjorin Moucharafou well ahead of the CAF Executive elections billed to be staged in Addis Ababa on March 16th as both men face each other for the West Africa Zone B seat.
In a recent interview, Moucharafou had casted aspersions on the NFF President Amaju Pinnick, calling him “my small boy”.
He clearing stated that the Nigeria football boss should wait for his time like he (Moucharafou) did when he patiently waited and loyally served under former FIFA/CAF Executive committee member, Amos Adamu.
But Pinnick, in what seem to be a direct reply to the aspersions made by Moucharafou, surprisingly only said “I wish him well going into the election”.
“I am not going to join words with Mr Anjorin because I always believe that it is God that gives power; when I got appointed into the highly reverred Organising Committee for FIFA Competitions, I did not lobby for it. Like I have always maintained, our total focus right now is ensuring that Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup and the next AFCON and it is on those bases that we have been able to secure 100% preparatory friendly game against high ranking Senegal and at the verge of securing another one against Burkina Faso in the 2 FIFA window in March. We are also working closely with the technical crew in securing a camp in Europe at the end of the football season in preparatory to our AFCON qualifiers against South Africa”.
“As for Anjorin, I will always wish him well”, Pinnick exclusively told aoifootball.com.
