Bobby Clement’s 90th minute goal helped Rangers International Football Club to a 2-1 win on Wednesday to move off the bottom section of the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League table.
They beat visiting Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu in a rescheduled Match Day 7 fixture to move to nine points from seven matches.
The defending champions took the lead through Daniel Etor in the 21st minute, before Kingsley Eduwo’s 36th minute strike drew the visitors level.
Eduwo’s goal came after Eduwo latched onto the rebound when goalkeeper Nana Bonsu pushed back his penalty kick.
Lobi Stars, who were reduced to 10 men after Chinedu James’ 80th minute sending-off for a second bookable offence, could however not hold on till the end.
In another rescheduled fixture, Katsina United added to FC IfeanyiUbah’s misery by beating the Nnewi side 1-0 at the Karkada Stadium in Katsina, after a 45th minute goal.
In Bauchi, hosts, Wikki Tourists, needed a 70th minute goal by Nnaemeka Anyanwu to beat visiting Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan 1-0.
The day’s fourth match saw Rivers United FC drawing 1-1 with visiting Kano Pillars FC in Port Harcourt.
Godbless Asamoah gave Rivers United the lead in the 45th minute, while Amos Gyang drew the visitors level in the 58th minute.
Even with Pillars’ Chris Madaki being sent off in the 85th minute, the hosts could not utilise their advantage to win the game for the full points.

The results:
Rivers United FC 1-1 Kano Pillars FC
Wikki Tourists FC 1-0 Shooting Stars FC
Rangers International FC 2-1 Lobi Stars
Katsina United FC 1-0 FC IfeanyiUbah.
