Reigning champions of the Nigeria professional Football League (NPFL)  Rangers International were on Sunday, March 12 overwhelmed 4-1 by Zamalek of Egypt in the CAF Champions League.

The game played inside Cairo’s El Salaam stadium, saw the Nigerian team fall 4-1.

The Flying Antelopes conceded three goals within the first half with Stanley Ohawuchi opening scoring for the host.

Hossam Salama and Ayman Hefni scored each to make it three- nil in the first half.

Zamalek scored a fourth through Mostafa Fathi via a penalty with just  nine minutes into the second half.

Rangers forward Bobby Clement however scored a very important away goal for the Nigerian champions.

Rangers host Zamalek in Enugu for the return leg.

The winner of the tie will qualify for the  money spinning group stage of the competition.
