The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Integrity Unit is set for another round of enlightenment campaign, as it will be meeting with all coaches that have registered for the CAF ‘B License’ coaching course taking place in Abuja.
NFF and FIFA Integrity Officer Dr. Christian Emeruwa, who spoke exclusively with AOIfootball.com, outlined how the event will unfold.
“Our plan is to interface with these coaches, to bring them up to speed about the NFF and FIFA integrity initiative, and to introduce them to the concept of match manipulation and match-fixing, while also sharing with them the current Nigeria Football Federation integrity initiative strategic guideline”.
Emeruwa emphasised that the meeting, which comes up on Friday 24th march 2017, will serve as an opportunity to sensitise the coaches on the inherent dangers of a manipulation infested football society.
“The whole idea is to have a robust discussion with the various coaches that will be attending this program, in a bid to sensitising them on the dangers of match manipulation and the reality as it relates to the fact that it is prevalent even within the territory of Nigeria,” said Emeruwa.
The FIFA integrity official, who has been seen seizing every opportunity that presents itself to speak in a football gathering in Nigeria, talked about his expectations ahead of the meeting with the CAF coaches.
“We hope that on Friday when we meet with these coaches, they will all leave the seminar better informed and better equipped to understand that they also have a role to play in the crusade against match manipulation within the territory of Nigeria.
