Super Eagles’ striker Odion Jude Ighalo has warned his colleagues not to treat the Bafana Bafana of South Africa with kids gloves when both sides clash in Match Day one of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier billed for the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The South Africans missed out of the last AFCON but stopped the Eagles from qualifying for the 2015 edition of the tournament and still boast of some of the continent’s finest players following the recent success recorded by current CAF Champions League winners, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ighalo, however insists that the team, despite currently ranked 64th by FIFA, are no pushovers.

“The South Africans are no pushovers and we must register that on our minds. So, it’s going to be a difficult game but I think we have a fantastic team that can win. We have to be ready and finish the business before it starts to get more difficult and we have a young and good team that can do that,” Ighalo told only AOIFootball.com.

On his re-invitation to the Eagles camp, the former Watford FC goal merchant says he is ever ready to honour call-ups and is looking forward to another time to wear the Eagles’ jersey.
