Super Eagles Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye has revealed that Chelsea FC defender Ola Aina has indicated to FIFA he wants to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria.

Aina was one of the English-bred Nigerian players who played a part in the last camping of the Super Eagles in London in March.

Speaking to AOIFootball.com, Ibitoye said it is one of the very first important step the player needs to take before World Football governing body, FIFA would process his switch.

” We are delighted to announce that Chelsea FC defender, Ola Aina has written to FIFA to indicate he wants a switch of Nationality to Nigeria from England to enable him play for the Super Eagles. This is a very important step in the process and in a matter of weeks, it should be sorted out.” Ibitoye revealed.

The Chelsea defender, 20, played for the youth teams of England while growing up but has now changed his mind on featuring for the Three Lions of England at the senior level.
