Enyimba FC of Aba Coach Gbenga Ogungbote, has said that the NPFL players and coaches would have loved the second round of matches to start this weekend or earlier than the new May 21 date. According to him, if the second round of matches start early, the league could finish early because everybody, including the administrators, already have a cut-out plan for the end of the season.

The former Shooting Stars handler lamented that clubs will now have to change their plans as most of them have already conditioned themselves for the league kickoff on the 7th, stressing that the  shift in date means that clubs will have to make amends and draw up new plans.

“In this situation there is nothing we can do about it; a new date has been fixed and all we need to do is to adjust to it.”

“Everybody would have loved it to start this weekend or earlier than the new date so that we can finish it in good time, because we have plans and I am sure even organisers themselves have plans too.”

“We have already conditioned ourselves that the league is going to start on the 7th but now that it has been shifted, all we need to do is to adjust our programs in line with the new dates,” Ogunbote lamented.
