Newly invited Super Eagles’ defensive midfielder, Mikel Agu, who is currently on loan at Vitoria Setubal says he is happy with the recent extension of his contract at his parent club, FC Porto of Portugal, AOIFootball.com reports.
Agu stated this in a recent chat with sports journalists on the Nigeria Sports Mouthpiece WhatsApp platform.
“I am happy about the extension of my contract with my parent club, FC Porto. I’m sure it is as a result of hard work. It’s been a very good season so far, and it is a way they could award my hard work. Like they say, hard work pays a lot, I hope going back there will bring about more successes to my career,” Mikel said.
Mikel Agu has featured 29 times this season for Setubal where he has posted man of the match performances in different games this season for the Portuguese outfit.
On his recent invitation to the national team camp in Corsica and Paris, the midfielder said he is delighted to have been given a call up.
He is expected to join the rest of the invited players on 24th May.
