Former Super Eagles’ captain, Kanu Nwankwo, has said the Super Eagles 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Cup qualifier against South Africa is a must win game for the team, reports AOIFootball.com.

The Eagles lock horns against the Bafana Bafana on June 10 inside the main bowl of the Nest of Champions in Uyo.

The two- time African player of the Year posited that it is important the Eagles start the campaign in a commanding fashion while maintaining the nation is still respected on the continent despite missing two AFCON tournaments.

“Teams still respect Nigeria despite back to back AFCON misses, so I think South Africa  will be wary of Nigeria. So we must put our acts together as we play them, ” Kanu said.

Coach Gernot Rohr has released an initial list of 25 players that will trimmed after their 8-day camping in Paris/Corsica with some new players to jostle for a final place in the list of players that will play South Africa.
