General Manager of Delta Force Football Club of Asaba, Mr. Moses Etu has submitted that the race for promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) from the Nigeria National League (NNL) will be very tough, due to the little differences in points between the six teams in the Southern Conference.

According to him, the competition for promotion will always be fierce when only two out of 18 teams will make it to the topflight league at the end of the season, with teams like Heartland of Owerri, money bags Go Round FC, Osun United, Gateway FC and a host of other ambitious teams jostling for tickets.

Etu told AOIFootball.com exclusively that his players have what it takes to gain promotion to the elite league, adding that devoid of any bad politics against his club, they will clinch one of the coveted tickets.

“I give kudos to my boys, even though I had expected that by now we would have been far ahead in our group.

“If you check the points’ difference, you will see that the gap is not that wide and any of the six teams in our group can gain promotion.

“The race will be very tough but I have no doubt we have what it takes to gain promotion to the NPFL, that is if there are no bad politics against our team; we will get to the promised land,” he said.
