Former Super Eagles’ midfielder, Friday Elaho, has said that Nigeria needs a stronger Super Eagles team that can match any African side in our subsequent matches if it must make headway in the AFCON 2019 and Russia 2018 qualifiers.

According to him, the Super Eagles’ team that played South Africa in Uyo a fortnight ago, cannot withstand any strong African team, and will be beaten easily.

The former Brondby of Denmark midfielder told AOIfootball.com that that the coaching crew of the team must go back to the drawing board, watch the video clip of the match and present a better formidable team.

“To say the truth, I am still in shock the way our boys lost in Uyo against South Africa. The loss is still fresh in mind and I think our boys went to sleep against the Bafana Bafana during that game.

“We need a stronger Super Eagles team, because the one that was fielded in our last match in Uyo cannot withstand any strong African side.

“There is still time before our next game, so the coaching crew needs to go back to the drawing board, watch the video clip of the match over and over, to identify the problem areas and present Nigerians with a stronger team in the next game,” Elaho said.
