Super Eagles and KAA Gent winger Moses Daddy Simon says he intends to score plenty goals this season for his modest Belgian side after scoring the winning goal in his team’s 3-2 friendly game win against Belgian Division B side KFCO Beerschot-Wilrijk, AOIFootball.com can report.

The winger only managed five goals in all competitions last season for Gent, he however sees his last season performance as below par while aiming higher in the new season.

” Last season was not my standard but I’ve put it behind me. I look forward to a better season and hope to score plenty of goals,” Moses told AOIfootball.com

Gent raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Yuya Kubo and Mamadou Sylla in the 20th and 53rd minutes respectively.

In the 65th minute, Beerschot pulled a goal back though Placca to make it 2-1.

Beerschot were back on level terms following an own goal by Gent’s Stefan Mitrovic in the 61st minute.

But Simon scored what proved to be the winner for Gent in the 72nd minute.

Simon’s Nigerian teammates, Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu, were named on Gent’s substitutes bench.

On Friday, Kalu scored in Gent’s 3-1 win against RC Lens in another pre-season friendly game.

Gent will host Rheindorf Altach next Thursday in the first leg, third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
