Former Nigeria international and member of the NFF Technical Committee, Garba Lawal, has cautioned the home-based Super Eagles not to underestimate the Squirrels of Benin Republic if they don’t want to be shocked.

Both sides square up on Sunday in a CHAN qualifier and Lawal believes pressure will be more on the Eagles who will be playing away from home.

Lawal told only AOIFootball.com however, that the home-based Eagles have the capability of caging the Squirrels and qualify for the CHAN or possibly win the competition.

“Nigeria has to approach Sunday’s game seriously, because you never can tell what surprises await you.

“We are going to be playing away on Sunday and the pressure will be on the Eagles; they will enjoy all the support and they will try to enjoy themselves. We must not take chances.

“I believe Nigeria has the capability to surmount any pressure from Benin and even pile up pressure on them. I know that the league players want to qualify Nigeria for CHAN and even win it,” concluded Lawal.
