Super Eagles and Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder Ogenyi Eddy Onazi’s deal to English Championship based side, Birmingham City FC is almost a done deal, AOIFootball.com reports.

Reports in England indicates, Birmingham City have completed a €4.5million deal to sign the Nigerian midfielder.

Onazi joined current club Trabzonspor from Lazio last year and scored twice in 27 Turkish Super Lig matches last season.

The former Lazio star confirmed to AOIFootball.com that he was called up personally by Birmingham City coach Harry Redknapp who he said wanted to sign him up in the past whilst at Tottenham.

The Eagles star also revealed that he was further lured by the ambition of the new management at the club and also wants his family to settle down in the UK.

“ It’s almost a done deal. It would be a new challenge for me. This club wants to return to EPL, they also want to sign good players that will ensure the promotion of the team back to the Premier League. I want to be part of the group,” he told AOIFootball.com exclusively.

Blues manager Harry Redknapp hasn’t hidden his desire to sign new midfielders following the acquisition of Cheikh Ndoye from Angers.
