Plateau United captain Elisha Golbe has been called up to report to the Super Eagles camp, AOIfootball.com can report.

According to the Super Eagles twitter handle, Super Eagles assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf called in Golbe to replace the suspended Kalu Orji Okagbue ahead of the second leg tie of the 2018 African Nations Championship qualifier against Benin Rebuplic at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kano.

Golbe replaces the Rangers defender who received a second yellow card after the game for dissent, according to a Tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.

The home-based Super Eagles lost to their counterparts from Benin Republic 1-0 no thanks to an 89th minute penalty converted by their skipper Seibou Mama following a infringement on a Beninoise player inside the box by Akwa United’s defender Azeez Aremu.

The CHAN Eagles are looking to overturn the one goal deficit to book a place in the 2018 CHAN in Kenya despite the setback. 

The Home Eagles have qualified for the previous two editions of the competitions in South Africa and Rwanda after missing out on the first two editions held in  Ivory Coast and Sudan.
