* Scores brace in Anderlecht’s 3-2 win
Super Eagles and Anderlecht of Belgium striker, Henry Onyekuru has fired an early warning to Coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the Zambia clash in Uyo, after been overlooked for the double header against Cameroon.
The striker returned to league action on Friday with a bang as he netted a brace in Anderlecht’s 3-2 win over Lokeren in the Belgium top flight.
The Everton loanee, who has struggled to replicate last season’s form with Eupen, finally opened his account for the season just after 3 minutes into the match as he fired in from close range after some sloppy defending from Lokeren, who failed to properly clear from a set piece.
Onyekuru was however yellow-carded in the 59th minute as tensions were high with his team 2 – 1 down, but the attacker was not to be denied his brace as he poked into the net from around 3 yards from the goal line after another defensive error from the Lokeren team.
Anderlecht did get their winner through Teodorczy on the stroke of 90 minutes to hand Anderlecht a vital 3 – 2 win to move them 7th on d table with 8 points.
The goal will come as a huge relief for Onyekuru who will be hoping he gets back to scoring form ahead of the qualifiers against Zambia next month.
