Super falcons star Francisca Ordega as joined Spanish women league champions Atletico Madrid on a 6 month loan deal from parent club Washington Spirits.
The former Bayelsa Queens’ star, who has been an integral part of the Super Falcons, joined Sydney FC in the Australian Women League in a similar loan deal in 2016, becoming the first African to play in Australia.
Ordega, who scored four league goals for Washington Spirits this season amid series of injuries, will now become the first Nigeria professional female player to play in the Spanish League.

Ordega represented Nigeria women’s national football team at all levels.
She played the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
At senior level, she played in the FIFA Women’s World Cup tournaments of 2011 and 2015 and then later she opened her World Cup account by scoring Nigeria’s equalizer against Sweden on 8 June 2015 in Winnipeg, Canada.
The 24-year-old striker has won three African Women Championships with the Super Falcons.
