Super Eagles’ and Bursaspor defender, William Troost-Ekong, has expressed delight after he was shortlisted for the 2017 CAF Awardson Wednesday, AOIFootball.com can report.
Ekong, 24, took to the social media shortly after the nominees for the prestigious award was announced to write: “Honoured to be nominated for African Player of the Year. Representing Nigeria together with @VictorMoses #CAF @NGSuperEagles”.
Ekong has been impressive for both club and country this campaign, starting in all the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifiers as the team clinched a sixth ticket.
The former Tottenham Hotspur youth prodigy has also been impressive for Bursaspor this season, scoring twice in seven league outings.
