Former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu has said that Nigeria’s 4-2 victory over Argentina will boost the confidence of the team ahead of the World Cup next year.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure goalkeeper trainer, told AOIFootball.com that the Super Eagles’ players soaked the pressure from the South America giants, but however cautioned that the team must not stop at winning Argentina, they must work hard to get more victories.

“The match was a very good one for the Super Eagles and the 4-2 score line very sweet too.

“The victory has given most of the players the confidence that they can do it at the World Cup. The team must continue, they must not just stop at beating Argentina, they must be determined to get more victories.

“We must congratulate the team for the victory and congratulate the coaching staff for soaking the pressure and masterminding such a result.”
