Super Eagles’ defender, Shehu Abdullahi has said he is optimistic Nigeria can scale the hurdles posed by their group opponents during the World Cup, to come out tops.
The Cyprus-based defender, who took to social media to express his views after the draws on Friday, said the Super Eagles have the right players and technical backing to shine at the mundial next year.
“Our group is competitive, challenging and demanding. But we have the players and a very detailed coach to see us through. So, bring on the World Cup, we are ready!” Abdullahi enthused.
The former Kano Pillars player also urged Nigerians come out en mass to support the team on and off the field.
“Nigerians be our 12th man in every game.
Nigeria is drawn in Group B alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland.
