Super Eagles’ hot shot, Henry Onyekuru was once again the hero for his Belgian club RSC Anderlecht, as they beat KSC Lokeren 2-1 in a league game at the weekend, reports AOIFootball.com.
Anderlecht took the lead in the 17th minute when Pieter Gerkens slotted home to put the away side ahead, however, the lead lasted just ten minutes has Ari Freyr Skulason equalised from the penalty spot to level scores 1-1 with both teams going into the break.
The second half resumed with high tempo and intensity as Anderlecht scored their second and what proved to be the winner when 20-year-old Onyekuru received a pass from Sofiane Hanni to slot home and put the away side 2-1 up.
Onyekuru’s goal proved decisive as both teams were unable to add to the score line as the game ended 2-1, a result that solidifies Anderlecht’s grip at the third position.
The goal was Onyekuru’s 8th of the campaign and puts him joint highest goals- scorer alongside Boureima Hassana Banda of KV Mechelen and Isaac Thelin of Waasland-Beveren.
Onyekuru and Anderlecht now turn their attention to their final Champion’s League clash away to Celtic, with just pride the only thing left to play for.
