Super Falcons’ defender, Onome Ebi has expressed her delight after signing for Chinese women professional side, Henan Huishang, thus ending her two-year clubless stint.
The former FC Minsk player, who spoke to AOIFootball.com exclusively from her new base in China, said she had to work day and night to secure herself the deal.
“I’m very happy to have secured a move to China; since the last Nations Cup, I have been unattached. I worked day , night and midnight to get this, so it’s a proud moment.
“It was not easy for me securing this move because I didn’t have a manager so I worked for myself,” Onome said.
The three-time African Woman Championship (AWC) winner further thanked her friends, family, and well-wishers for helping her make a return to active football in grand style.
“I got connected with Henan through a friend and I didn’t stop communicating till I achieved this and with the support of my sister too Asisat, my management team, friends and family.
“So I want to use this medium to thank everybody who supported me and I promise to make the best out of it and come back stronger for the national team,” Onome concluded.
