Ahead of the Super Eagles’ friendly matches against Poland and Serbia, Head Coach of the team, Gernot Rohr has cautioned his player to play with care as to avoid any serious injuries that could affect the chemistry of the team, reports.

The Franco-German manager, who was present at the Coca-Cola World Cup trophy tour, said friendly matches are expected to prepare the team for the World Cup, rather than harm the team before the tournament, while also welcoming Ikechukwu Ezenwa back from injury.

“We are playing Poland, Serbia to prepare for the World Cup and we don’t pray for injuries. We have to play with caution and prepare well for the World Cup,” Rohr said.

The Eagles manager further posited said that he was delighted to have Ikechukwu Ezenwa back from injury as he is always happy to work with the full complement of all his players.

“It is good that he is back, I am happy and that is the reason for the call-up,” Rohr stated.

Ezenwa got injured during the 2018 CHAN tournament in Morocco and was out for seven weeks before he announced his return last week.

Nigeria will take on Poland on March 23 in Wroclaw before facing Serbia in London four days later.
