Super Eagles’ tactician, Gernot Rohr is hopeful Bayern Munich on-form goal poacher, Robert Lewandowski will be tamed by his boys when both teams file out on March 23 in an international friendly, AOIFootball.com reports.

Lewandowski fired a hat-trick for Bayern Munich against Hamburg at the weekend and is expected to lead the Polish attack against a compact Super Eagles’ team who tamed the likes of Aguero, Dybala and Di Maria last year.

But the Eagles’ gaffer believes his defense will hold the fort and stop the attacker from replicating such form.

“I know Lewandowski is a good striker and he scored a hat-trick over the weekend, but hopefully, against us, he will forget his scoring boots at home.

“I’m confident in the defense and the whole team, that if we play as a unit we can stop, not just Lewandowski, but any other striker in the world,” Rohr said on Brilla FM.

The Eagles’ gaffer further posited that regardless of the results, the only important thing for him is to continue to strengthen and work on his players before the World Cup in June.

“It’s not about the result but the unity of the team; we have some new players and we will like to see what they can also offer and have a good team ready for the main tournament in Russia,” Rohr said.

Nigeria and Poland will take to the field on March 23  in Wroclaw with kickoff set for 20:45 GMT.
