Super Eagles’ midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was pipped to the Leicester City Player of the Season by defender Harry Maguire on Tuesday night, AOIFootball.con reports.

Ndidi, alongside Maguire and striker Jamie Vardy, were the final three shortlisted the award but the English defender took it ahead of the Nigerian.

However, the 21-year-old Nigeria international beat Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray to take the prestigious Young Player annual prize for the second time.

Ndidi was rewarded for an outstanding season in England, showing how important he has become to the Foxes.

He has made 33 appearances to date in the league to help Claude Puel’s men stay ninth with 44 points from 35 matches.

Also, he leads the Premier League top of tackle chart with 138 tackles ahead of Idrissa Gueye and N’Golo Kante.
