Former Super Eagles’ handler Lars Lagerback has sent his best wishes to the Gernot Rohr tutored side ahead of the World Cup which is billed to kick off in about 40 days, can report.

In a video message posted via the official twitter handle of the Nigeria Football Federation, the Swede, who took the Eagles to the 2010 edition of the World Cup, recounted his days as coach of the team while also assuring that everything the team is doing at the moment shows they are on the right track.

“Hi everybody in Nigeria. My name is Lars Lagerback, I have come to wish you all the best in the World Cup coming up in Russia. I have some good memories with the Nigerian National team and all the friends I got when I was in Nigeria. So I hope you prepare well, everything is going alright. I really look forward to seeing you playing in Russia even if I will be in Sweden watching from the TV,” he said.

The former Iceland coach singled out Super Eagles team Secretary Dayo Enebi for praise and also wished himself and the team the best at the tournament.

Lagerback has also coached Nigeria’s opponents Iceland in the past and he is currently in charge of the Norwegian National team.
