Super Eagles’ new invitee, Simeon Nwankwo has expressed his gratitude in being named among the 30-man provisional World Cup list, saying it’s arguably one of the greatest feelings he could ever imagine as a footballer, reports.

The Crotone of Italy striker, who has been in blistering form of late for the Serie A team, told in an exclusive interview that he is finally living his dream.

“Honestly, I have to thank God Almighty for this day; it’s something I have always wished and prayed for. It’s a great feeling and honour to be called up to represent my country; I’m finally living my dream.

“I also want to thank the coaches for believing in me and I promise I won’t disappoint if given the opportunity,” Simy enthused.

The 26-year-old attacker is arguably one of Nigeria’s hottest legs in Europe presently. He further revealed that Arsenal legend, Kanu Nwankwo is his role model.

“My role model has been Kanu Nwankwo because I grew up liking his style of play and I started adopting it; hopefully, I can replicate some of the magic he did with the national team during his playing days,” Nwankwo concluded.

With Gernot Rohr naming just three main strikers in the list, one can’t rule out the possibility of a World Cup debut for the energetic forward.
