Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has been handed a tall order by fans of his Chinese club, Changchun Yatai after they urged him to return home with the World Cup trophy, AOIFootball.com reports.
Ighalo, whose name was chanted all through their 2-0 home loss to Beijing Sinobo Guon, was unable to replicate his April form which saw him score 6 goals in two matches, thus earning him the award for the CSL Player of the Month of April.
The former Watford striker was presented with a replica world cup trophy at the sound of the final whistle by the home fans as he bowed in appreciation of their support for him since joining them in January of 2017.
Ighalo is just one goal shy of breaking Yatai goals record and will now team up with the Super Eagles ahead of their friendly against DR Congo next week in Calabar.
