Super Eagles’ midfield sensation, Oghenekaro Peter Etebo has promised to him his best at the World Cup, and that the team will make Nigerians proud, AOIFootball.com reports.
Speaking exclusively with AOIFootball.com, Etebo, who plays for Las Palmas in the Spanish LaLiga, said he does not think Nigeria is a weak team despite playing a draw against the Leopards of DR Congo on Monday in Port Harcourt.
“Well, I am grateful for all and still hoping for more; although it has not been easy, we are just pushing on by His grace”.
“The draw against Congo is not a sign of a weak team and I don’t think we have a weak team”.
“Well actually, no team is the strongest and it’s a game of football where anything can happen. So, definitely, all the teams in the group are good enough. We will see how it goes but definitely we are going to make Nigerians proud,” Etebo said.
Speaking on what Nigerians should expect from him at the World Cup if he makes the final list Etebo replied: “Well, I can’t assure them anything but surely, I am going to give my best and not only me, but I believe the entire team will do. Being a Nigerian is a thing of joy and I am proud to be a Nigerian”.
