Super Eagles’ midfielder, John Ogochukwu Ogu has defended their narrow 1-0 loss to Czech Republic on Wednesday, saying the team have seen their flaws and will work on them before the world cup begins next week, AOIFootball.com reports.
Ogu, who started in the heart of the Eagles’ midfield in the clash, further vowed to play in any position or role he is deployed to by the coach, so long as it requires the team to come out victorious at the end of the day.
“Another friendly game to analyse, learn and build on towards the World Cup. Everyone is working hard and as well preparing for the task ahead.
“Any position the manager wants me to play; I will fight and work hard as long as it’s to win for my country. Thanks to all our fans,” Ogu twitted after the team’s recovery session on Thursday afternoon.
With one win in five pre-World Cup friendlies, Nigeria’s Super Eagles must now up their preparation if they are to make any meaningful impact at the World Cup.
