Stoke City Manager, Gary Rowett has confirmed that new signing Oghenekaro Etebo and three other World Cup representatives will link up with the first team squad in time for their forthcoming trip to Germany, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Potters head to Herzlake in Lower Saxony next week to undertake a six-day training camp where the squad are set to take in a friendly against Bochum and participate in a three-team tournament featuring non-league side SV Meppen and recently-relegated Bundesliga side Hamburg.
Whilst the players were initially expected to miss at least part of the trip, Rowett has revealed that summer signing Etebo, Swiss star Xherdan Shaqiri and Senegalese duo Mame Diouf and Badou will now all return to training on Monday.
“The international lads were initially given three weeks off, but we have accelerated that a little bit because we would like them out in Germany with us,” he told Stoke City FC official website.
“They will either fly out to Germany with us on Monday or they will fly out there and meet us at our base on the day, depending on the logistics,” Rowett revealed.
The Eagles midfielder joined the Championship new comers on the eve of the FIFA World Cup from Portuguese side CD Feirense in a deal worth around £6.25 million.
