Former MFM striker, Stephen Odey scored his first goal of the season for FC Zurich when they defeated local rivals Grasshopper in the Zurich derby, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 20-year-old attacker, who missed his side’s first game of the season, justified his inclusion in the starting lineup with a well-taken goal.
With the first half failing to produce any goal, FC Zurich went ahead two minutes into the second half when Adrian Winter reacted quickest to a Toni Damgjoni pass to put the visitors ahead.
With an hour gone in the match, Odey was alert to double his team’s lead when he slammed home a rebound from the right-hand post to put the icing on the cake, thus keeping FC Zurich unbeaten after two round of matches.
The goal will come as a big morale booster for the attacker who was reduced to just three league starts last season as he hopes to be a regular with the Swiss-based club.
