Super Eagles’ forward, Henry Onyekuru made a winning start on is first competitive game for Galatasaray as they came from behind to beat newly promoted Ankaragücü 3-1 at the Osmanli Stadium in Ankara, AOIFootball.com reports.
Onyekuru, who had an impressive pre-season, started on the left-hand side of the attack as the home side surprisingly took the lead just seven minutes into the clash when Mostapha El Kabir fired Ankaragücü in front.
Galatasaray did, however, equalize after series of pressure when Serder Aziz leveled matters before an own goal by Bakary Kone on the half-hour mark put Galatasaray 2-1 up going into the break.
The impressive Onyekuru was withdrawn after 84 minutes for Sofiane Feghouli before Younes Belhanda set up Eden Derdiyois to score Galatasaray third. The match ended 3-1.
The game was Onyekuru’s first competitive start in 8 months as he had an impressive game rating of 7.0, completing 73% of his passes, made two key passes and completed 100% of his dribbles. He also won 5 of is duels contested.
