Former African Footballer of the Year, Kanu Nwankwo, will on September 30 host Premier League legends in a charity match at the Hive Stadium in London, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Eagles’ captain is aiming to raise $35 million to build a new cardiac centre in Abuja, Nigeria to reduce the cost of traveling and accommodation fees for sick children and their families.
Already confirmed for the match are Premier League masters who will play against African masters, with the likes of Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, Teddy Sheringham, Sol Campbell and Robert Pirès.
Other Premier League stars will be drawn from teams Kanu played for during his glittering career in the UK like Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion, and Portsmouth.
The African All-Stars will also include African players who reigned alongside Kanu.
All proceeds from the match will be going towards the Kanu Heart Foundation.
