Match Day 2 of the Group E encounter between “The Pirates” of Seychelles and Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be staged at the well sited Stade Linite or Roche Caïman (Mahé), Victoria, the capital city of Seychelles, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 10,000 capacity stadium, which was built in 1992 and renovated in 2007, is the home ground of the Seychellois national team and will host the high profile 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Nigeria.
The Pirates lost 5-1 to Libya in the first game of the AFCON 2019 qualifying series and are expected to take the game against highly fancied Super Eagles of Nigeria seriously if they are to get back into reckoning.
The team, coached by Gavin Jeanne, however, had fair results in this year’s COSAFA Cup competition, recording two 1-1 draws against Comoros and Madagascar but lost 2-1 to Mozambique.
The team has only won once at home in the past 3 years, with the last victory a 2-0 win against Lesotho in an AFCON 2017 qualifier.
The game against Nigeria has been slated for September 7th by 2:15 pm.
