Super Eagles new boy, Kelechi Nwakali has recaptured the old times with Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho after both players reunited in the national team, AOIFootball.com reports.
Iheanacho and Nwakali grew up playing together in Owerri, South East Nigeria, and both led Nigeria to victory at the 2013 and 2015 U-17 World Cups, clinching the golden ball in the process.
Both players will now line up together for the senior national team against Seychelles this weekend, years after growing up together with Nwakali expressing his gratitude for the moment.
“We have gone through a lot of difficulties together, right from Owerri and now here in the national team. You still be my oga @kelechi. The best peace is being contented with what you have,” Nwakali posted about his buddy.
The FC Porto attacking midfielder will be hoping for his first full senior cap after impressing with the Eagles B team in last May’s 3-2 friendly loss to Atletico Madrid in Uyo.
