Super Eagles’ Coach Gernot Rohr has handed debut call-ups to four NPFL players ahead of Tuesday’s international friendly against Liberia in Monrovia, whilst also dropping seven players from the 21 that faced Seychelles on Saturday, AOIFootball.com reports.
Enyimba FC captain, Mfon Udoh and strike partner Sunday Adetunji, as well as FC Ifeanyi Ubah’s Adeleye Olamilekan and Lobi stars’ Ebube Duru, will join 14 others with Okechukwu Ezenwa completing the home-base contingent for the encounter.
Dropped from the list of 21 are goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, defenders Bryan Idowu, Leon Balogun, Kenneth Omeruo; midfielders Ogenyi Onazi, and forwards Ahmed Musa and Odion Ighalo who both scored in the 3-0 defeat of Seychelles on Saturday.
Apart from goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa who travelled with the team to Seychelles for Saturday’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Pirates, all the other home-based professionals have been directed to report at the Sheraton Hotel, Lagos on Monday, 10th September, latest by 3pm.
Ezenwa and the 13 other players would fly into Lagos from Addis Ababa on Monday before the contingent is flown to Monrovia on Monday night aboard an ARIK Airline.
The match is in celebration of Liberian President and former World Footballer of the Year, George Oppong Weah, and is scheduled for Tuesday evening at the 35,000 –capacity Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
