Super Eagles’ midfielder, Mikel Agu has said that he’s happy to have returned to competitive football after featuring for Vitoria Setubal in their 3-3 draw away at CD Nacional in the Group B Taca de Liga clash at the weekend, AOIFootball.com reports.
Agu last played competitive football in May against DR Congo prior to the world cup but revealed that he was satisfied with the result his side got from the match.
“It’s a great feeling to be back on the pitch; Setubal is like home for me because I have been here before so I was happy with the result of the game.
“Hopefully we can build on the result and do well in our league game next Saturday,” Agu said.
Agu could, however, miss Vitoria Setubal’s next league clash against Porto on Saturday if the clause in his loan contract states that he’s shouldn’t play against his parent club.
He featured 25 times in his first stint with the club, helping them to a 12th place finish in the 2016/2017 season.
