El-Kanemi Warriors Head Coach, Imama Amapakabo has revealed that he’s excited ahead of his side’s Aiteo Cup quarterfinals clash against 2016 losing finalists Nasarawa United, AOIFootball.com reports.
Imama, who also doubles as the assistant coach of the Super Eagles, made this assertion after they picked up the second qualification ticket from the Kano zone where they finished behind his former club Enugu Rangers.
“I’m excited and happy with our qualification despite playing against a good team who moved the ball well and were slightly at the advantage in the game. We had a plan coming here and we are happy to have advanced to the quarterfinals stage.
“The Nasarawa game will be an exciting one no doubt and we know ourselves very well from playing in the league. I don’t want to comment much about the game itself, but I’m sure the fans will be treated to an exciting football on a very good pitch,” Imama concluded.
The 2016 NPFL champions will be hoping to end El-Kanemi’s 26-year wait for the FA Cup when they square up against Nasarawa United at the newly renovated Aba International Stadium on Thursday, October 4.
