Super Eagles and Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfielder, John Ogochukwu Ogu signed off to the international break in spectacular fashion after leading his Israeli club to their first league win of the season, AOIFootball.com reports.
Defending champion’s Be’er Sheva were without a win in their opening 5 league outings coming into the match, but however put that statistics to bed after demolishing third-placed Maccabi Petach Tikva 4-1.
Despite going behind after two minutes, the home side rallied back to turn the match in their favour before the break with a brace from Ben Sahar (13 and 30 minute) either side of Dia Saba strike (15) with Mihaly Korhut completing the victory in the second half.
An excited Ogu afterwards dedicated the victory to the fans for their continuous support in their trying times.
“Win for the fans tonight,” Ogu posted.
