*Picks up slight knock
Super Eagles’ defender, Kenneth Omeruo started his first league game for Spanish side Leganes as they were forced to a goalless draw away at Valencia, with the Chelsea loanee limping towards the end of the match, AOIFootball.com reports.
Omeruo started in the heart of the defence and helped curtail threats from Valencia all through the first 45 minutes.
The away side however took the lead half way into the second half when Gerard Gumbau converted from 12 yards to put Leganes 1-0 up, before Omeruo was replaced on the 70th minute by Raul Garcia after picking up a knock.
His absence was however felt as Leganes failed to hold on to their slim lead with Jose Luis Gaya breaking the heart of the away fans as he equalised with 7 minutes left to hand Valencia a share of the spoils.
Despite being on the pitch for just 70 minutes, Omeruo still gave a good account of himself, earning a game rating of 7.0, making 6 clearances and one interception. He also completed 95% of his passes and won 100% of his duels contested.
The Nigerian will have to wait for the result of the medics to determine the extent of his injury.
