Former Super Eagles’ defender, Chidi Nwanu has urged the Super Eagles not to underestimate South Africa when they face them in the November’s African Cup of Nations qualifier, AOIFootball.com reports.
Nwanu, who represented Nigeria at both the 1988 Olympics and the FIFA World Cup in 1994, further urged the team to remain disciplined ahead of the remaining fixtures of the qualifiers.
“The Eagles are on a right course already but they have to remain disciplined and continue the hard work. They should never underrate or underestimate any team and also have confidence in themselves,” Nwanu posited.
The Eagles need just a point to seal qualification to next year’s AFCON championship in Cameroon and need to get a good result from their opponents who ran away with a 2-0 victory in the early stages of the qualifiers in Uyo.
