Former Super Eagles’ star and current Head Coach of the Tanzania national team, Emmanuel Amuneke has said he is grateful for how the outgoing year has panned out for him even as he expects a better 2019 with the AFCON his main priority, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 2015 U-17 World Cup winner told AOIFootball.com in an exclusive interview, that he was happy with the year under review and hopes to learn from the little mistakes he made and ensure he perfects them in 2019.
“Yes, it’s been an eventful 2018 for me. I have learned a lot experience wise and otherwise. You know after losing the u-20 job I moved to Sudan coached in the premier league their for a  while, then I joined the FIFA technical study group for the World Cup in Russia and after then Tanzania came calling.
“Overall, I want to thank God for his grace so far. Hopefully, next year will be bigger for us,” Amuneke said.
On his team’s chances of qualification, Amuneke noted that everybody involved with the Tanzania national team must work together to ensure they bring smiles to the faces of the fans who have not been to the AFCON in nearly four decades.
Third placed Tanzania host already qualified Uganda in March next year, having their destiny in their hands as they need an outright win to ensure qualification to their first AFCON in almost 40 years.
