Former U-17 World Cup winner, John Lazarus believes Lobi Stars can take a big step towards progression from the group stages of this season’s CAF Champions League by Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa on Friday, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 20-year-old joined Lobi Stars from El-Kanemi Warriors. He told AOIFootball.com exclusively that although it won’t be an easy game, they will make Nigeria proud in the competition.
“We know how important the first game is so we will put in our best to ensure we win our match on Friday because it’s very important to start on a winning note.
“The training is good and by God’s grace we have the players that can do the work for us and emerge top in our group,” a confident Lazarus said.
On his chances of breaking into the first team, the versatile player noted that he will continue to work hard to ensure he convinces the handlers to put their trust in him.
“Coming here to Lobi, I have learnt many things. It’s not going to be easy but I will continue to work hard and remain determined in mg quest to break into the first team,” Lazarus concluded.
