After helping his side gain promotion from the NNL to the Nigeria Professional Football League, Head Coach of Insurance of Benin, Baldwin Bazuaye has disclosed that they will be very much prepared for the NPFL, stressing that the have learned from their last mistake 11 years ago, AOIFootball.com reports.
He further went on to praise the collective effort of the team, starting from team manager Monday Odigie and also the entire squad led by the Deputy Governor of the state, who is also a player in the team.
“Obviously, everybody associated with Insurance are happy we have gained promotion, but for me I don’t think it would have been possible without the support of the entire team, starting from the Technical Manager, Monday Odigie and the good people of Edo State.
“The support from January last year has been amazing and I’m sure we will continue to receive such support at the NPFL. Now we will just focus on our last game here in Aba and rest afterwards,” Bazuaye said.
On possible recruitment ahead of the new season, Bazuaye noted that the team are already looking at some few players and will definitely strengthen the squad ahead of their NPFL opener.
“We already have some we are looking at, some of them are here with us and the technical manager and I have already identified the ones we will be adding to the players we have.
“I believe the scenario is quite different from 11 years ago; the team now has a structure and purpose, coupled with the support of the governor and all stakeholders. We will rise above expectations,” Bazuaye added.
He concluded by revealing that Deputy Governor Philipe Shuiabu will also be a part of the team in the NPFL and will be registered after being part of the history promotion team.
