Taifa Stars Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke is hopeful of his side's c
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed former Super Eagles star and current Head Coach of the Taifa Stars of Tanzania, Emmanuel Amuneke as a member of the Technical Study Group for next month’s AYC in Niger, AOIFootball.com reports.
Amuneke, who had a similar role at last year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia, will be tasked with the responsibility of determining best players in the tournament and also reviewing how the game can be improved at the junior level on the continent.
Having failed to qualify the Flying Eagles for the last AFCON U-20 two years ago, the 48-year-old took over the reins at Sudanese side Al Khartoum SC in November but after a dispute with salaries, he left the club midway through the season before being appointed the head coach of Tanzania in August last year.
The Nigerian is however on the verge of creating history with the East African side as they are just one victory from qualifying for the 2019 AFCON later for the first time in forty years.
