Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze is set to return to the starting XI for Villarreal when they host Espanyol at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday afternoon, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having started from the bench in their last two league outings against Valencia and Atletico Bilbao, the pacey winger will now take his place in the starting XI following the return of former coach Javier Calleja who was recalled during the week.
The Yellow Submarines are without a win in 8 league games and In fact, are winless since the departure of Calleja with Chukwueze coincidentally handing the club their last league win in November against Real Betis where he scored the winner.
Calleja’s return will, however, boost the confidence of the 19-year-old, who scored two goals and one assist in six outings under him.
Chukwueze as made 11 appearances for the Yellow Submarines, starting 9 of those games and scoring twice whilst chipping in one assist.
